eGFR (2021 CKD-EPI)
68.6 mL/min/1.73m²

An eGFR of 68.6 (60–89) is common and only indicates kidney disease if accompanied by other markers like protein in the urine. Doctors look for a confirmed trend over 3+ months, not one value.

Important Medical Notice

This eGFR is an estimate. Clinical decisions should consider the full clinical context including trends over time, other lab values, and patient history. Confirm with a healthcare provider.

What if your age changes? 45 years → 70.8 mL/min/1.73m² · 50 years → 68.6 mL/min/1.73m² · 55 years → 66.5 mL/min/1.73m²

2021 CKD-EPI Update — Race-Free

This calculator uses the 2021 CKD-EPI creatinine equation, which removed the race coefficient that was present in earlier versions. The NKF and ASN task force recommended this change because race-based adjustments perpetuated health disparities. The 2021 equation is now the recommended standard for all adults in the United States.

Clinical Warning — Educational Use Only

This eGFR estimate is for educational purposes only. It does not constitute a medical diagnosis. All clinical decisions regarding kidney disease diagnosis, staging, medication dosing, or treatment must be made by a licensed healthcare provider using the full clinical context including patient history, physical exam, and additional laboratory values. A single eGFR value should not be used in isolation for clinical decision-making.
